Here is a short video from the Dublin bottling company. It's a little shaky because I hadn't had anything to drink all day and I was probably dehydrated. To top it off, right before shooting this at the start of the tour I downed two free Dublin Dr Peppers. My wife doesn't like Dr Pepper so I got hers as well as mine. It was very tasty.
Is it really that slow normally, or did they slow down the line to make it easier to watch?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that's how fast it always goes. It does seem really slow compared to watching the modern factories on shows like "How it's Made". The equipment is really old though. I can't remember just how old the equipment really was. I wish I had payed closer attention to the details. I'd like to go again sometime. Even though it was fun to go while they were celebrating, it was really crowded. My kids were tired and they kind of rushed us through. I think it would be much more enjoyable on a normal day.
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to go some time, send me an email and maybe we can meet up for an atheist lunch and a Dr Pepper shake. I may not have the time between a bunch of business trips coming up and the bad news that I'll be going to Afghanistan with my National Guard unit (more on this in an upcoming post), but if it works out it would be cool.
Oh, btw, the bottles that they bottle at the factory aren't for sale. They are only on exchange basis meaning you have to have a case of empty old Dr Pepper bottles to exchange for filled ones. I assume they charge for that so technically they are for sale, but part of the price is having all the old bottles. If you plan on going you better hit up ebay or garage sales. They do sell smaller 10 oz bottles that are bottled elsewhere.
